Reinstalling Debian -- how can I be useful?

I'm installing a new hard disk on my tower. This seems like a good time to
reinstall Debian.

I use Sarge right now, but let me ask: what would be the most useful to the
people trying to get the new release out? If I document a Sarge install
using the default installer? A Sid install? Some experimental installer?

I set up this box by installing Potato, then dist-upgrading, but I'll bet
that isn't helpful to anyone.

For over 90% of my software, I expect to get it installed using the list
generated by "dpkg --get-selections". Any pitfalls anyone knows about?

I have a cable modem (4 mbit) connection to the Internet, so I'd be doing a
mostly-net install, unless it's more useful to the project to download CD
images.

I will have several partitions on this thing, enabling me to try a couple of
different methods.
