[command-name] is the command you get from "netstat -tanp" or "lsof -i". Try this: $ man dpkg-query $ dpkg -S [command-name] I think this should list the package the file [command-name] is in. If that doesn't work, you could copy the list the output of: $ ls /etc/rc* And someone will probably realize right off what is starting it. dircha
