IBM db2 V8.1 on unstable

Hi there smart list,
i've been trying to install IBM's db2 v8.1 on unstable for a week now but to
no avail, i did everything needed to be done according to
http://sqlrelay.sourceforge.net/sqlrelay/gettingstarted/db2/81.html and
additionally creating a small /bin/rpm script that adds the --nodeps option to
the option list so that /usr/bin/rpm doesn't complain. The install shield
written in java failed but a db2_install script in the install directory did
the job of installing all the rpms. As the document puts it at the beginning,
though, versions of java SDK > 1.3 don't seem to work. So i gave the supplied
SDK IBM java2-1.3.1 a try but whatever i try to do, i get segfaults trying to
run the db2isetup script which creates instances of the db. After scouring
the net i found out that this might be a problem in the glibc version against
which the IBM java executables are linked but my knowledge wouldn't help me
here any further, so any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated,
Boris.
