It works (Sid, lprng, Moz 1.6, no changes in prefs.js) with xprint 
("lp@:64" in the Mozilla print menu). It prints garbage with the old 
Mozilla print method (postscript/default). I have an UTF-8 default 
locale, don't know if that is necessary.
