Ironically, about a week after Lance won his first Tour de France on
Team USPS, the USPS fired it's last dozen of bicycle couriers, all of
which served the downtown neighborhood I now live in (half the streets
are closed to motor vehicles, making the letter carriers actually
carry the sacks of mail to the dorms and college buildings on the
south end of downtown, instead of strapping the bags to a sturdy
bicycle and pedalling a longer route in less time, and still have
postmen with backs left at the end of the day.

Why is it mail form Tiajuana, Mexico to Los Angeles makes it faster
from Vancouver, WA to Portland, OR?
