No PS/2 Mouse with Kernel 2.6.x

Hi,

I've ASUS L8400B notebook with synaptics touchpad and an external PS/2
mouse attached. With Kernel 2.4.x both devices funtioned correctly.
Now, with the kernel 2.6.4 and the synaptics driver installed, the
touchpad works fine again but the external PS/2 mouse does not. When I
move the external mouse on X, nothing happens but when I move the
mouse on a console or gpm the message "Synaptics driver lost sync at
byte 1" scrolls over the screen. When I touched once the touchpad a
message "Synaptics driver resynced" appears once.

What can I do, to get my PS/2 mouse working again?

Thanks for your answers...

My dates are:
