I don't use Thunderbird but using Evolution, I get options as to what to
do with an attachment. A .doc file, I get a choice of OO.writer or
Abiword or save to disk. It may be a Thunderbird issue as much as a
Gnome or OO.org issue.
BTW, I do like the Debian logo in the splash screen instead of the Sun
logo.
