This is very much a shot in the dark, because it's something I've vaguely
heard of but never tried to check out... I believe some motherboards don't
make that much of a distinction between the "keyboard" and "mouse" PS/2
ports, so you get a working keyboard even if you plug it into the wrong
port. It's faintly possible that your MB is like this, your keyboard is
plugged into the wrong port, and X doesn't like it... try swapping the mouse
and keyboard over. Don't be too surprised if this doesn't work though...
