Hi! When trying to start gnome-session, I get the Debian splash

/var/log/gdm ?
/var/log/XFree86.0.log ?

Don't have gdm installed, so use "startx /usr/bin/gnome-session".
The second log shows AFAICS nothing relating to the problem. Using fvwm,
blackbox, windowmaker or ratpoison, X starts without a hitch. KDE does
not work, however.

Exactly what is his problem with libxft2? Does it exist?
