  I think I may have screwewd up somewhere on the setup.  Here are a few
excerpts from /var/log/dmesg

ide-floppy driver 0.97.sv

  I'm not a kernel hacker, but I can "./configure && make && make install"
What is the procedure to set up ide-cd and make it available ?  Here are
