A virtual package 'gnome' exists on sid to install gnome - however I am
not sure (nor sure how to be!) whether this package exists in woody.
There is also a similar package x-window-system for that requirement.

I'd recommend using aptitude if possible rather than dselect.

I'm not sure but it would be a quick job in perl, if it hasn't been done
(and packaged) already.
