Kernels 2.4.22 and 2.6.0-test9-1-386

I was using a 2.4.20 kernel which I compiled on a sid machine. Just
as an experiment I installed today 2.6.0-test9-1-386 and
kernel-image-2.4.22-1-686 with the following results.

With 2.6.0-test9-1-386 the display worked OK but I could not get the
mouse working at all.

With kernel-image-2.4.22-1-686 the boot process ended in:

bin/sh: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
VFS: Cannot open root device "hda1" or 03:01
Please append a correct "root=" boot option

I am using grub and I can boot 2.6.0-test9-1-386 and 2.4.20 with the
same configuration.

Bugs?

Regards
Johann
