downgrading many packages?

Hi all.

I installed a package (and all its dependencies) from unstable using apt, then 
I realized that some of the libraries installed were too new and compromised 
the stability of my system. 
Is there some way to downgrade a package and all its dependencies using apt?

The way I solved this was primitive: I downloaded by hand all the packages I 
needed to downgrade from testing and then I use dpkg --force-downgrade -i 
<packagename>.deb

Is there a better way of doing this?
