There are two reasons why the module is not loading:

First of all, it's named "usb-uhci" not "uhci" hence the right command
is

"modprobe usb-uhci"

which you'll have to execute with root privileges. However if you're
running the stock Debian Woody installation, you have Kernel 2.2 which
does not support USB out of the box. You will have to install a newer
kernel, the easiest way to do so is

"apt-cache search kernel-image"

and then look for what the lateste kernel-image for your architecture
is. Install it via apt-get and modify your /etc/lilo.conf file. Don't
forget to apply the changes by executing lilo.
Reboot, select the new kernel and try "modprobe usb-uhci"
