Oh, good idea. I tried it. I set up the directory for squid and launched it with chroot, but this is what it says:
FATAL: Could not determine fully qualified hostname. Please set 'visible_hostname'
The docu says visible_hostname is set automatically by a call to gethostname().
And hostname -f inside the chroot env says:
hostname: Resolver Error 0 (no error)
Strange error, I copied the whole /etc to the chroot directory ...
