Afraid you're not going to like the solution... :) 

pkill nautilus

and if you don't have nautilus listed as an auto-restart in your Gnome
session, re-run it. Otherwise it should come up on its own.

This feature request has been in bugzilla for about as long as I can
remember and, as far as I know, still hasn't been implemented.
