console-data upgrade and problems now

Hi,

I just did a
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

One package was upgraded: console-data_2002.12.04dbs-15_all.deb

I am using Sarge and need accents (French). I had no problems before the
upgrade.

When I try a dpkg-reconfigure console-data (or console-common) and try
to load a keymap from the complete list: it just goes back to the shell.
Same if trying to load from arch: errors from the perl script.

That's the choice I have:
ll /etc/console/
total 8
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4687 Aug 28 01:37 boottime.kmap.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2473 Aug 25 04:38
boottime.old.kmap.gz

It is important for me to get the right setup (fr_FR.iso-8859-1).

How can I fix this?

Thanks for helping.
