Samsung ML-1710 Problems in SID

ever since SID's glibc went from 2.3.1 -> 2.3.2 I haven't been able to print.
Now I do not know enough about cups or it's driver system to really diagnose
what is happening. All that i know is that downgrading to glibc 2.3.1 seems
to fix the problem ( I read the error log on debug2 and noticed references to
functions that looked like they were in libc).

This is quite possibly a problem with the 3rd party drivers that came with the
printer , which is why I haven't filed a bug against libc6 or cupsys. Here is
what I think is the relevent section of the error log. Pleas help me find
out at least where to start looking. (ignore the media tray message since I
know that the media tray is fine with libc 2.3.2)
