RE: I want separate MUA/MTA/MDA
I would definitely go with the latest exim. I have been having a
wonderful time with it and I really like the responsiveness of the user
community. I would like to hear what you think of postfix and procmail.
I need to include server side rules for mail sorting, and exim user
filters will work, but I would prefer a gui over the top of it. Any
suggestions.

Thanks for all the help. Based on the advice given, I am reading the
material available linked by the procmail, postfix, exim, etc. websites.
I
will take a closer look at sendmail as well. I want to understand email
at
all levels and from all povs. I would like to eventually understand the
nuances of the various tools as well.
My first practical, baby-step concern is if I will be able to maintain
my
working KMail configuration while I try out combinations of uni-purpose
mail
tools.
