Re: nforce kernel modules

I tried using alsa again, I followed the howto on the alsa site.
http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php3?company=Nvidia&card=nForce&chip=NM2360&module=intel8x0#Inst
and I get errors ar this step. Could this be because I am using kernel
2.4.21?

root@mainbox:/home/gerard/alsa/alsa-utils-0.9.6# modprobe
snd-intel8x0;modprobe snd-pcm-oss;modprobe snd-mixer-oss;modprobe
snd-seq-oss
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.o: init_module: No
such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/sound/pci/snd-intel8x0.o: insmod snd-intel8x0
failed
