kernel-2.6.0-test2 & alsamixer

Hello,

Under a fresh kernel 2.6.0-test2, alsamixer says

<----------------------log>
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory
</---------------------log>

Looking in source, it seems that alsamixer needs a conf file (DATADIR/alsa/alsa.conf) but why doesn't it complains under my 2.4.20 kernel ?

I got this file in /usr/share/alsa and I export ALSA_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/share/alsa

but know alsamixer says

<----------------------log>
ALSA lib control.c:612:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL default

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory
</---------------------log>

Any idea about this ? TIA.
