Good idea is to use pam_group module to add user to audio group in login, kde
(but not ssh :) ) pam configuration.
"auth optional pam_group.so" in /etc/pam.d/kdm (or kde; depends on
compile time settings) and "*;*;*;Al0000-2400;audio" in
/etc/security/group.conf will give audio group privileges to users logging in
using kdm.
