As root:

  # apt-get install build-essential debhelper flex gettext groff libdb3-dev

As an ordinary user:

  $ apt-get source man-db
  $ cd man-db-2.4.1
  $ debian/rules build

As the 'man' user:

  $ cd /WHEREVER/YOU/DID/THE/ABOVE/src
  $ gdb ./mandb
  (gdb) run --no-purge --quiet
  [ ... and with any luck it will now segfault in the same way, so ... ]
  (gdb) bt
  [ ... you might want to leave this gdb open and get in touch with me
  now, in case I want some more debugging information ... ]

If you have trouble building the package, let me know and I'll produce a
debugging build for you, but it would be easier if you could get it
working on your system.

I'm using 2.4.1-12 myself, and haven't had any other reports.

Thanks,
