to me unique number = fingerprint. watermark.
if you exaimine the analog waveform, extract the min and max, then
quantize it to some integer values... then you could take the values,
string them together and get a REALLY BIG number.
i.e. a sine wave(y=sine(x) quantized to values 0 to 255, where the
points would be 128,129,130,...255...,128,127...0,1,2,..128
then
make a number
128129130...255...128127...000001002...128
