OK, so if I make a file /etc/rc0.d/S88dpmsoff
with 

#! /bin/sh
/usr/X11R6/bin/xset dpms force off

would that make sense...? 

But then, come to thnk of it, the X-server has been shut down long 
before this happens, so it perhaps makes no sense at all...? 

Are there more sensible ways to tell the monitor to go off?
