Installing XFree86 v3.3.6 instead of v4.0
I installed debian-30r1 on a fairly old PC with a S3Trio64V2/GX video chip.
X applications wil not run. I think that XFree86 version v4.0 no longer not
support the S£Trio64V2/GX chip and I need to install XFree86 v3.3.6.
Can I install XFree86 v3.3.6 during the initial installaion process?
If not, how do I remove XFree86 v4.0 using apt-get after installation?
Which dependant packages do I also need to remove?
How do I install XFree86 v3.3.6 using apt-get?
What other packages should I install with it?
Sorry for all the questions.
Thanks, Barnaby
