Congratulations & welcome to Debian GNU/Linux ; you will find this mail 
list and the others associated with Debian VERY helpful. From the 
context of you posting I would suggest you install either KDE or GNOME 
desktop implements. Read up on them carefully before deciding. I prefer 
KDE for MOST of my clients. Good LUCK!!!
