rpc.mountd exiting

Hi all.

I have a strange problem with nfs v3. I have one server and two clients.
One of the client works fine and is set with autofs.

But recently I am having problems with the other one. I have lookup autofs
seems to kill rpc on the server ([1],[2]). 'showmount -a myserver' wont
work anymore after that . Mount by hand works, but after some time/use the
server exits ([3]).

I thought it must be nfs version, but same problem using kernel 2.4.18. I
thought it might be a dns pb, but it works perfectly with myotherclient.

Is there a reverse lookup ooption in nfs-common / portmap / automount ? what
am i missing here ?

thx, piem
