Well, you indicate that you used the HP LaserJet Series Driver. This
driver is not specifically for your printer and is only a generic driver
for HP LaserJets. So, some tweaking is to be expected. You could visit
linuxprinting.org to find a CUPS driver more to your printer's liking.
