Problems with network in graphic mode

Hi everyone!!!

I hope my english can be understood :), i'm getting a weird problem with
network
access in graphic mode, every time i try to access a web site my browser
(galeon, mozilla, links) keep waiting forever, but if i make the request "by
hand" from a telnet session everything works ok.
i don't think it is a problem of my ISP 'couse it works fine from windows
and it used to work fine from RedHat 8.0 before i moved to Debian. My first
thought was that the problem was related with some graphic library but after
an upgrade to Gnome2.2 the problem persist, also if i use links from console
(no graphic mode) it too keeps waiting forever.
I inspected the network traffic generated by both kinds of request (using a
browser and by hand) using tethereal and the request seems ok but when i use
a browser i never recieve a response from the web server. Attached i send
examples of this traffic. The file galeon.txt
is the request to www.linux.cu with prox.sld.cu as proxy using galeon and
the file telnet.txt is the request "by hand" and the network traffic
generated by it.

I don't know what to think, so any sugestion is more than welcome, my setup
is Debian3.0 r1 with Gnome2.2.

Hoping any help,
  Ali
