You need a kernel-image 2.4.18 for your machine type (probably i686
depending on the age of your PC).  It will suggest some dependencies
(kernel-package etc).

You will need to amend your lilo.conf file (as instructed during the
installation) and then run lilo.

Make sure you've made a boot floppy with your current kernel before you
start. type "mkboot" as root (otherwise if you hit a problem you may not
be able to boot the system to get out of trouble)
