Re: Integrated sound on Via VT8235 South Bridge

I have that bridge on a Gigabyte GA7VAX motherboard. I downloaded the
drivers for the sound chip (which is a Realtek ALC650) from the realtek
website; here's what my lsmod shows for sound:

snd-via82xx 7588 0
snd-pcm 56928 0 [snd-via82xx]
snd-timer 10848 0 [snd-pcm]
snd-mpu401-uart 2784 0 [snd-via82xx]
snd-rawmidi 12768 0 [snd-mpu401-uart]
snd-seq-device 4016 0 [snd-rawmidi]
snd-ac97-codec 25360 0 [snd-via82xx]
snd 25384 0 [snd-via82xx snd-pcm snd-timer
snd-mpu401-uart snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device snd-ac97-codec]
soundcore 3652 0 [snd]

And it works fine for me.
