Using MPlayer as Mozilla plugin
How do I get MPlayer to act as a plugin to handle these mime types
application/x-mplayer2 (Windows Media) and audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin
(Real Media)?
I already tried adding them under the Helper Applications section of the
preferences and then pointing them at /usr/bin/gmplayer, but I still get
the blue puzzle piece that says "You need the appropriate plugin to
handle <MIME TYPE>". I have MPlayer 0.90 installed (I built the .debs
from the source I downloaded from their website) and the the Real Media
and Win32 codecs (I can play standalone files with no problem).
I really need to get this working becuase my wife likes to go onto Yahoo!
to checkout the movie trailers and she gets irritated when she can't view
them (which I then hear about).
