just connecting the cdrom, even if its not used, should slow down the
whole cable to the slowest device ( ata-33 cdrom vs ata-100/ata-133 disk
drives )
- if your cdrom is ata-66 .. you have less of a "timing" worry
- the slow device will always say, in hardware timing signals...
"hey, wait you guys... i'm not done yet"
( 30ns vs 60ns bit clocks )
