The error messages indicate that your debconf database (usually located
at /var/cache/debconf) has been corrupted by the crash. I'd suggest you
purge the debconf cache (i.e. all files in /var/cache/debconf), if
you don't mind to answer all old questions again that debconf asks you
when you install/upgrade a package.

I had the same problem and even submitted a bug, because my system hadn't
crashed for a long time and I had never touched the database files...
