Try

 gnome-terminal --geometry 0x0+100+100

	 I think you will be disapointed. At least on my machine gnome-terminal
	 seems to "accept" the --gemetry switch, but ignores it. It just
	 returns a usage message on --iconic.

	 Ah, well, I thoguht I was close :-(
