Wireless LAN problems

When I insert my pcmcia 802.11b card, I get the following messages:

--
cardmgr[195]: executing: './network start eth1'
kernel: About to write key 0, keylen=13
kernel: About to write key 1, keylen=13
kernel: About to write key 2, keylen=13
kernel: About to write key 3, keylen=13
--

and everything freezes up. The only way to get control back is to eject the
card. I have WEP activated, with the KEY="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" line in
wireless.opts active, but with a 26-character 128-bit key. During this time, the
"active" light on the card stays solid, meaning that it's found the access point.

Any ideas on why this is happening?
