Hmm, not familiar with acronis... DOS will install into your new,
blank, primary partition if that is the only DOS primary partition on
the drive, and the only one with its "bootable" aka "active" flag set.

So... 1) Create your new primary partition
      2) Mark it as type FAT16
	  3) Set its "bootable" or "active" flag
	  4) If any other partitions have that flag set, take it off them
	  5) Tests: a) Boot off DOS floppy, change drive to C:, do a DIR.
	               You should be able to change drive to C: but the
				   DIR will fail with "Invalid media type".
				b) Run DOS FDISK, choose option 5 (Change current
				   fixed disk drive). The menu it gives you should
				   show your new partition identified as C:. (Don't
				   make any changes with DOS FDISK. It's just an easy
				   way to make sure DOS thinks the right drive is C:.)
