Blackdown Java install failure -- and where's application/x-java-vm
Stuck, once again...
I'm running a testing/unstable mix and mozilla-browser 1.3-5.
I added this to /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb ftp://ftp.tux.org/pub/java/debian unstable main non-free
and apt-get update && apt-get install j2re1.4.
In the end I get:
Setting up j2re1.4 (1.4.0.99beta-1) ...
update-alternatives: unable to make /usr/lib/mozilla-cvs/plugins/javaplugin_oji.so.dpkg-tmp a symlink to /etc/alternatives/javaplugin_oji-mozilla-cvs.so: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing j2re1.4 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
j2re1.4
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
I do not have /usr/lib/mozilla-cvs.
I went to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and there was this link:
javaplugin_oji.so -> /etc/alternatives/javaplugin_oji.so
Running mozilla with about:plugins did not show any java. So then I manually make a link:
javaplugin.so -> /etc/alternatives/javaplugin.so
and now about:plugins shows
H; j@ Plug-in Blackdown-1.4.1-beta
File name: javaplugin.so
Blackdown Java-Linux Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.1
(yes, some weird chars in the plugin title)
There's a bunch of MIME types shown, but no application/x-java-vm (just -applet and -bean).
What else do I need for application/x-java-vm?
