Debian and SCSI ??????

Greetings


I am looking to migrate to Debian. When I went to install it (3.0)
on my system it said that I didn't have a hard drive. Is there a 
reason why Debian 3.0 doesn't recognize SCSI hardware in
the install program? Am I missing something?
