With Debian? No. We just recently deployed about 30
boxes of the L100 and used the Linux software-raid for it.

We tested with RedHat but the driver-support only for
ancient kernels and the bad performance made us drop the
idea.

BTW.: Even FSC does not suggest using the promise drivers
for a "real-world" installation. They're crawling slow -
and what is more important - they don't give you any
advantage over Linux software-raid (well I haven't seen
any box using these drivers so far).

Correct - don't waste your time with these drivers.

Use Linux software-raid.

ATA-raid _is_ software raid (isn't their always a little
bit of software?), when I read the article on
http://www.linuxlookup.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=20&page=1
I decided that Linux software-raid is far more mature -
although you need a floppy to boot the box, if your first
disk crashes or needs to be replaced.

BTW.: The snmp-stuff, which comes with ServerView for the
FSC-boxes works ok under Debian - FSC was very supportive
to get it to work. A pity, that it is only available until
the end of may ...
