is network upgrade not available to your systems? never
tried upgrading via cdrom but upgraded probably 30 systems
from potato->woody via network with flawless results

I ended up doing a full install of Woody from CDs after running
Into interminable dependency issues trying to upgrade from Potato
Since my partitions and saved files were all preserved, it was
all gain and a clean installation without any residual issues
