If you already use KDE, I recommend koffice.  It's a smaller download,
and has strikingly similar funcationality to MS Office.  It can read
Office documents, but can't (yet) write them, however it can write to
PDF, RTF, XML, HTML or Latex, and with Latex, you can pull off other
formats pretty cleanly.
