you should be in some sort of hall of fame for having a system running
for so long with all those upgrades. wow. my systems are usually quite
stable but I usually end up reinstalling every couple years because
of new hardware or something(usually just to make the system "fresh").
longest running system I have is about 3 years now, well almost 3 years
anyways. 7 years.. damn!!

not sure how to answer your question though, my systems /tmp is
and always has been cleaned on boot, never needed any other behavior,
just wanted to comment on how amazing it is for a system to have gone
through 7 years of upgrades..
