what does glxinfo report? are you using a software renderer? if so
perhaps the software renderer doesn't support everything that the
hardware ones do.

my nvidia system reports:

are you running testing or unstable? I can find no trace of
the rs-cyclone file in stable according to packages.debian.org

if so, perhaps its a bug in that screensaver as well.

try /usr/lib/xscreensaver/gflux
