Need help for modem configuration

Hi,

 

I am sarathy calling from India(Tamilnadu). I have installed Debian linux on my Pentium 3 ( 933MHz ) system.I have problems configuring my modem .I need to know whether my modem is a linmodem or not.

 

MODEL : D-link DFM-560IS+

56K Motorola chipset PCI Bus Software Data/Fax/Voice Modem

 

When i configured and ran pppd it reported that the password for connecting to the DNS server was not supplied.Please help me configure my modem properly.
