Somehow, during some update/upgrade cycle, I lost my cdplay capability.
I use WindowMaker, but I don't know if that's the only one with this problem.
My cdrom's are all configured as ATAPI devices pretending to be SCSI devices.
The current path information looks like:
bash-2.05b$ ls -l /dev/cdrom
lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 13 Apr 21 12:04 /dev/cdrom ->
bash-2.05b$ ls -l /dev/cdroms/
lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 34 Dec 31 1969 cdrom0 ->
lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 34 Dec 31 1969 cdrom1 ->
bash-2.05b$ ls -l /dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/
brw-rw---- 1 root cdrom 11, 0 Dec 31 1969 cd
crw------- 1 root root 21, 1 Dec 31 1969 generic
bash-2.05b$ grep cdrom /etc/group
The path is OK and the rights are good as far as I can tell.
These are usually the first things to go wrong.
Now I'm on to the second one's and I'm not really sure what to do.
