vesafb +1G RAM
Hi all,
I built up a new machine with
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. 82845 845 (Brookdale) Chipset \
Host Bridge (rev 11)
00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 82801BA/CA/DB PCI Bridge (rev 81)
00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82801DB ICH4 IDE (rev 01)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R250 \
If [Radeon 9000] (rev 01)
and 2x512M RAM.
Bios settings:
grafik aperture size = 128M (must be twice?)
mem hole disabled.
If I boot with mem=1024M and vga=794 the vesafb starts with a "white
screen"
$ dmesg | grep vesafb
vesafb: abort, cannot ioremap video memory 0x8000000 @ 0xe8000000
with mem=1024M and vga=normal the vga-console starts perfect and RAM
is allocated with aroung 1033M.
After some iterations the vesafb starts at mem=820M and vga=794.
Any hints?
Thanks
Elimar
