In any open organisation with some degree of anonymity for participants,
someone seems to graduate to a Doctorate of Jerkiness. From what I've
seen of discussions on debian-devel, there are various participants that
elicit the reaction of some others that they have attained such a
status. However, among that group, they are performing constructive
tasks in support of Debian.

I regret that such is not the case in this situation. I have been around
all manner of newsgroups and mailing lists over my 20 years on Usenet
and the Internet, and encountered numerous plonking candidates over that
time, but I have largely avoided that, settling only for thread killing.
There are those that I have regularly and chronically disagreed with on
issue after issue, but I do not killfile them. Only two have earned that
over the years - Tim Martin of the comp.os.os2.* groups who runs
WarpCity.com, and seemed chronically, obsessively driven to pick fights
with anyone - usually to his humiliation (Tim liked to attack people for
posting from non-OS/2 systems when nothing else was working - only for
it to be pointed out that his "all OS/2, only OS/2" website ran on BSD
iirc.) Hell.Surfers is the other. There is nothing constructive from
either of them. :(
