To each his own; I built enough kernels that I got tired of doing make...
make... make... and learned to use make-kpkg.

For every kernel I build I apply at least one patch and I build pcmcia-cs,
nvidia-kernel-src, and alsa-modules.

make-kpkg is definitely less work for me.
